Parts For Cayman 718C (982C) 2017>>

About Cayman 718C (982C) 2017>>

To meet strict fuel economy and emissions regulations, Porsche underwent a significant shift, adopting turbocharged engines across its lineup. This move led to the revival of the 718 moniker, paying homage to the flat-four legacy of iconic models like the 550 Spyder and 718 race cars. In the 982 Boxster and Cayman models, the base and S variants boasted a range of engine specifications. The base model housed a 2.0-liter MA2/20 turbocharged flat-four with a conventional internal wastegate, while the Cayman S featured a 2.5-liter, 350-hp MA2/22 engine equipped with a variable turbine geometry turbocharger alongside a conventional internal wastegate to minimize exhaust backpressure.

For Porsche enthusiasts yearning for the signature flat-six sound, the introduction of the 718 Cayman GT4 was cause for celebration. This model sported a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six derived from the MA2 platform, generating 414 hp and revving up to 8,000 rpm. Reverting to the three-point mounting system of previous six-cylinder Caymans, the Cayman GT4 excelled as a track-focused car while remaining practical for daily driving.

The pinnacle of excitement within the 982 Cayman generation arrived with the debut of the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0. Unlike its predecessor, which utilized a turbocharged flat-four engine, the GTS 4.0 sought to deliver enhanced performance and character with a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter engine borrowed from the 718 Spyder and Cayman GT4. With 394 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque, along with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, the GTS 4.0 offered a perfect balance of power and driving engagement, making it the ideal daily sports car for enthusiasts.
